GARDENING WORKSHOPS

Are you in interested in growing your own vegetable patch? Or would you like to find out how to improve your garden? Then why not come along to one of the completely free workshops being held this month.

On Saturday 17th March you can learn the basic skills required to create a vegetable patch.

On Saturday 28th April, you can learn how to plant raised flowerbeds, how best to lay out your garden and which combinations of crops work well together.

Both sessions are completely free and take place between 10am and noon at the Green Man Community Garden in Addison Howard Park.

Councillor Sarah Jayne Holland, Portfolio Holder for Community and Regulatory Services, said: “These gardening workshops are a great opportunity for any green fingered enthusiasts out there to learn a bit more about gardening and how they can improve their garden or allotment.

“The classes are completely free and offer great tips and advice for local residents and I am sure they will prove very popular once again.”

THAT old expression about spring being in the air is spot-on. The birds are belting out romantic ballads like there’s no tomorrow, the sun is flying higher in the sky and the air smells oh, so sweet. So take a deep breath and enjoy it. Now’s the time to freshen up your décor indoors and spruce up your living space outdoors.
