Caped crusader out to 'kapow' burglars

Batman has joined forces with The Bill to help 'Stamp Out' burglaries.

Graham Cole, who played PC Tony Stamp in the ITV series for 27 years, helped The Caped Crusader launch Crimestoppers  new crackdown campaign at Venue Central in Chapel Street, Luton, on Thursday.

'Stamp Out Crime' will see 120,000 postcards being sent out to homes in Bedfordshire appealing for information on burglary and handling stolen goods.

Mr Cole said: "After 27 years of playing a police officer I am proud to put my name to the  Stamp out Crime  campaign with Crimestoppers and their new Property Protector.

"Its powerful technology will deter crime and provide reassurance that you are buying an official Police security solution. Help defeat the burglars."

Calls to the Crimestoppers 0800 555 111 number or information given through the website www.crimestoppers-uk.org are 100 per cent anonymous - in the same way that Batman s true identity is kept a secret.
