An investigation is being carried out after a blaze at a house of multiple occupancy.

Crews from Stopsley and Luton were called to the property in Hitchin Road  at around 10pm on Sunday evening to find the first floor alight.

Firefighters in breathing apparatus used two hose reels to bring the blaze quickly under control.

Although no-one was injured a member of the public was treated for smoke inhalation.

The police were also called to the property, and Scenes of Crime Officers have begun an investigation into the cause of the fire.
