To mark European Mobility Week the council has teamed up with a transport charity to offer incentives to those who ditch the car.
Luton Borough Council along with Sustrans will offer rewards for people who choose to walk, cycle or get the bus to work.
Employees from the University of Bedfordshire and the businesses at Butterfield Innovation Centre who take part in the scheme will receive a free breakfast.
University staff can claim their free meal on September 16, while workers at Butterfield can claim on September 22.
Councillor Dave Taylor said: “Substituting a drive to work with a walk or cycle can bring huge benefits to your lifestyle. It will keep you fit and in shape, give you more energy and help you feel great about yourself.
“On top of this, you will be helping to preserve the environment, reduce congestion and make the roads safer during peak times. I encourage everyone to take part in Green Travel Week and experience its many benefits first hand.”
European Mobility Week runs from September 16 to September 22. For more information visit www.mobilityweek.eu.
