Classically elegant:

The traditional wedding gown has grown up gracefully and now sports Grecian drapes, strapless columns and simple sharp lines.

White mischief:

Why not go for a sexy body-hugging wedding dress for a look that appears to have strolled straight off the red carpet.

White trouser suit:

Super sharp or soft and fluid. Think Bianca Jagger with this look.

Oscar night:

A glamorous wedding dress will dazzle with glitz and glamour or slinky sparkles, the glamorous options are all there.

Costumes:

Themed weddings are becoming more popular – medieval, Alice in Wonderland, vintage – or go all historical with a flapper dress of the 1920’s or even further back into the Edwardian era, a prim little Georgian-era  Jane Austen number or even a Shakespeare in Love Elizabethan gown.

Tartan:

If the groom is hoping to incorporate his family tartan into the wedding clothes then don’t feel that you have to wear the kilt.

Less is more with a little detail on your gown such as a sash.

Colour:

If you are going to be daring and opt for a colour make sure you go for a shade that suits you. If you don’t want to go for full-on colour you can always use hints of it in your accessories and table decorations. Be aware that the bolder the colour, the more it will dominate your photographs.

Boho chic:

If you are heading off to the sun for your wedding or you just don’t do formal there are some terrific bias cut, floaty jobs and hippy-chic wedding dresses that would ne perfect – and not necessarily expensive.

Black:

Fashion’s favourite is always unexpected at weddings so if you are looking to make a statement, you can’t beat black. It is always really flattering and you will probably be able to adapt it to wear on another occasion.

Or put the bridesmaids in black and go for a white dress with dramatic black detailing yourself.
