Proposal story Glen & Kelly

Kelly and Glen
Glen Clark is getting married to Kelly in Cyprus this September. But having bought the engagement ring, for six months without success, he tried to find the right moment to propose. Every time he got close to popping the question some well-meaning family member or friend would take the wind out of his sails by enquiring when the two of them were ever going to get their act together and tie the knot.

He considered cracking open an Easter egg and popping the ring inside; he contemplated going away somewhere romantic to do it but he didn’t want the moment to be too clichéd or tacky.

So he decided to do it on the least obvious day; his own birthday. The two of them went out for a nice meal and, much to his delight, when they left the restaurant it was chucking it down. Cats, dogs, the works. Kelly put up an umbrella and, as they sheltered from the rain underneath it together, Glen finally got out the ring and proposed. Hooray!

“Kelly went into a bit of a panic at first” says Glen. “Then very quickly she said: ‘Of course I will!’”

Romantic though it was for the proposal, with a bit of luck, there’ll be no need of an umbrella where they are getting married.
