The work of Coward

MUSIC

Sincerely Noel

Harpenden Public Halls, Southdown Road, Harpenden

Thursday, February 16, 7.30pm

Join actor and impressionist Alistair McGowan and musical actress Charlotte Page for a delightful evening of entertainment as they bring the songs, poems and prose of Noël Coward to Harpenden.

Featuring well-known classics including ‘Mad About The Boy’, ‘Never Again’ and ‘Alice Is At It Again’ Alistair and Charlotte, accompanied by George Dyer on the piano, whirl through these insights into the lives of everyday people and the upper classes delivering a fresh take on Coward’s dazzling dialogue, irresistible one-liners and acerbic wit.

Many of the dramatised verses (including the staggering Not Yet The Dodo) are being performed for the first time and the songs - from Never Again to If Love Were All - have been freshened up by Warren Wills’ wonderful new arrangements.

Alistair McGowan (pictured above) is best known for his BBC TV show The Big Impression and has also appeared on stage in the West End, receiving an Olivier Award nomination for his role of the dentist in the 2004 revival of Little Shop of Horrors.

Charlotte Page has recently been compared to Joyce Grenfell at her best and is known as one of the UK’s foremost Gilbert and Sullivan sopranos.

Tickets cost £18, and £16 for concessions and can be booked online at www.harpendenpublichalls.co.uk or by calling the box office on 01582 767525
