Sky gazers will be able see a confluence of three events when a full moon, lunar eclipse and a supermoon occur together early next week
Anyone who wants to see the lunar event above Bedfordshire will need to prepare for the date because if you miss it, there won’t be another super moon eclipse until 2033.
A blood moon occurs when the sun’s rays refract through the Earth’s atmosphere and illuminate the moon in a reddish glow in Earth’s shadow.
You can view the eclipse with the naked eye and it will be visible in some parts of the UK from early next Monday morning.
The total eclipse will start at 3.11am and end at 4.23am, with part of the moon appearing darker. The full super moon eclipse will be at its maximum at 3.47am and the partial eclipse, as the moon gradually appears brighter, will end at 5.27am.
Monday (28th September) will see the last total eclipse of the Moon in the 2014-2015 tetrad. The first three occurred on April 15th 2014, October 8th 2014 and April 4th 2015.
